COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

St. George's United believes that God's Spirit is already active in mending the world. As such, we seek to join with what God is already doing by partnering with local community groups by providing space, time, or resources in ways we hope will benefit and bless our broader community.

The Comox Valley Toy Library

 The Comox Valley Toy Library Society is a volunteer operated non-profit society offering an affordable and environmentally conscious alternative by lending toys to families and caregivers of young children. The Sonshine Lunch Club

 The Sonshine Lunch Club “Soup Kitchen” was started in June of 1996 by the St. Vincent de Paul Society of the Roman Catholic Church, and they operated two days a week at St. George’s.  Now, St. George's hosts eight different church groups serving meals to those in need five days per week. St. George's provides space, volunteers, and funding for this amazing non-profit group seeking to serve those whom Christ calls "the least of these." Click the banner above to visit their site.

Comox Bay Care Society and Care-a-van

 Comox Bay Care Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to prevention and early intervention of homelessness. Since the start of the program on April 27th 2009, over 1,000 individuals who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness have received healthcare services aboard the Comox Bay Care Society's Care-a-Van. The Care-A-Van parks outside St. George's Fridays during lunch club time. In addition to space, St. George's recently donated $7000 to the ongoing work of the Care-a-Van.
