Safehaven Fundraiser for Refugees:
Baked Goodies, Live Entertainment, Jewellery & Silent Auction
Saturday, October 22nd, 10 amto 2 pm
St. George’s United Church Hall, Courtenay
Your help is needed to make this fundraiser a success:
#1.* GIANT BAKE SALE The weather is getting cooler so warm up your ovens and help make this really great with your favourite cakes, cookies, squares, etc. Gluten free items are always welcome too.
#2. * SILENT AUCTION. We will need lots of good quality items for this. Things such as pottery, art, paintings, gift certificates to local businesses etc. Not furniture and really other large items. Look around your house and if you have any special item you wish to donate, set it aside! If you have connections with any local businesses ask them to donate a gift certificate or basket.
#3. *JEWELLERY SALE. Donations of jewellery for both men and women are needed. They don’t need to be extremely valuable but if they are, please indicate a value. We expect to have hundreds of items for sale.
There will be entertainment for the full four hours, provided by generous local musicians.
Thank you SO MUCH for participating, and for your in-kind and financial donations for helping a family relocate here from war-torn Syria.
The Bake sale person is Joyce Wilson at 250-890-1006 and Gary is the contact person for the Jewellery & Silent Auction, at 250-338-8974.
Items to donate will be by drop off at St. George's United Church from 9 am to noon on Oct. 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st. The items can be brought into the church and someone will be there to assist.
We want to stress this is not a garage sale, so items should be more upscale.
