Hiring: Children’s Church Leaders
Job description
St. George's United Church is looking for Children’s Church Leaders to supervise and lead children during Sunday worship. They will provide a fun, welcoming, and safe atmosphere for school age children. This is an ideal position for college and older high school students.
3 hours a week on Sundays (one Sunday off if wanted)
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience and ability to work with children
Arts and crafts skills/experience
Biblical knowledge is an asset
Strong leadership skills
Ability to work well in team environments
Great communication skills
A positive and joyful attitude
Comfort with the theology and ethos of the United Church of Canada as expressed by St. George’s United Church
Completed Criminal Check
Duties & Responsibilities:
Greeting children and families
Assisting families during worship
Leading children during children’s church (lesson, craft, activity)
Ensuring children are reunited with caregivers after the service
Connecting with children and families during fellowship time
Cleaning up children’s church spaces and resetting it for the week
A Children’s Church Leader will be responsible for providing a positive and safe experience for children during worship. They will be directly overseen by the Children’s Church Coordinator and the Children’s Church Committee.
Pay: $22.00 per hour, increased to $25 per hour after 3 month probation
Schedule: Sundays only
One year-commitment required.
