Join us for Advent, Carols and Christmas Services

No matter who you are, where you are in life, or the journey of faith, there's a place for you at St. George's. Come as you are, and join us as we wait and watch in joyous anticipation for Emmanuel—God with us.

Join us for vibrant worship each week in the Advent Season, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day, along with our outdoor Carol Sing on December 11.

COVID Guidelines

Our current guidelines are based on recommendations by the Pacific Mountain Region of the United Church of Canada, going above and beyond B.C. Health requirements:

  • Masks must be worn at all times at indoor worship by all ages 5 and up. Please bring your mask, and if you forget you will have one supplied.

  • Every second pew is closed for physical distancing purposes.

  • Vaccine Passports are not required for attending services. But St. George’s encourages vaccination, and we do recommend that those who have yet to get their second vaccination partake in online worship options if possible. They can be found here.

  • We recognize that not everyone will be comfortable with these requirements—some will prefer more and others will prefer less—but we intend to strike a balance between safety and Christian hospitality. If you have any questions, please click the button below to contact the church office.

Advent Season

Sundays 10:30am November 28, December 5, 12 &19

The four Sundays leading up to Christmas are the season of Advent. Advent means “coming” and our church services reflect the themes of waiting and longing as we prepare for the birth of Christ.

Christmas Outdoor Singalong

Saturday, December 11, 4pm

Everyone is invited to come out for a carol sing-a-long on Saturday, December 11th at 4pm on the church front lawn.  We'll start with some cookies and hot chocolate and then spend a rousing hour singing some Christmas favourites.  We will brave a slight drizzle, but will cancel if things get torrential.  No need to RSVP, please just bring yourself and anyone you think might enjoy some hearty singing.  Dress warmly and bring an umbrella.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Family Service

Friday, December 24, 6:30pm

Joy. Hope. Peace. Love. All are welcome to this family friendly celebration of the gifts of the season that don’t fit into a box. Carols, children’s retelling, and Silent Night candlelight singing.

Due to its popularity we are allowing for pre-registration for Christmas Eve Services to get a sense of how many people to expect. It is not required, but it will ensure you a seat. We have a hard cap of 170. Click here.

Whole offering to be donated to Lush Valley Food Action Society. We will match all donations up to $5000!

Christmas Day & Boxing Day Services

Saturday, December 25 & Sunday December 26, 10:30am

Celebrate Christmas without the crazy. On Christmas Day we hold a more meditative service with lesser known carols and holy communion. On Boxing Day we will be having a carol service singing many favourites.
